Today, I have a quick tip for you because I am going to my industry's largest trade show in Vegas with thousands of vendors there trying to
get attention and new clients.
A lot of people miss
the importance of providing an experience around your target audience
when exhibiting at a tradeshow.
They’re going out there and they're thinking about displaying what they offer and not necessarily thinking about the audience’s experience.
As you're putting together your trade show booth/experience together,
think about your target audience and what they're looking for.
When I'm going to my trade show I'm looking for:
What's new?
What's hot?
What's trending?
What's different?
What makes this supplier different?
How are they displaying their tradeshow booth?
Do they look professional?
Do they look fun?
And like everyone else, if I use them how does that make me look? Yes, the what’s in it for me mentality.
I have different categories of clients and they expect me to have a variety of tools in my toolkit so I can fulfill their expectations and help them reach their marketing goals.
If it’s a new supplier that I have never worked before exhibiting, then they're unlikely to catch my attention. Unless they’re doing something that’s making them
stand out above everybody else.
Think about
what makes you different from everybody else.
For these exhibitors that I will be seeing... There are thousands of them and they have a split second to show me what makes them different?
What's going to make you stand out? How are you going to help me with my business? With my and my client's goals?
Use the tradeshow’s hashtag and show me why I need to see you?
Do pre-show emails, direct mail calls inviting me to your booth and why.
Next time you are going to exhibit think about how you are going to engage your target audience to get them to come to talk to you in the booth?
Just like your target audience, there is no way I can hit every booth that's on that trade show floor so if they're not pulling me in, they're not engaging me, or it's not a vendor that I already know... then I'm probably not going to stop there because I just don't have enough time. Not because I don't want to, but they have to really make sure they're standing out to pull me and the rest of their target audience in.
I would love to help you reach your trade show goals. Where are you struggling? What are your goals? What do you need my expertise with?
If there are any upcoming projects that you need my help with, now is the perfect time to
to me. I’m going on a mission to find what’s cool, new, hot, trending this year at my tradeshow for my other clients and I don’t want you to miss out. I’m just an email away.
